With spring underway and summer right around the corner, it is officially the season for outdoor festivals and events and we couldn’t be more excited about it here at Lakeside. Even though it has been a rainy May so far, we know it is only a matter of time before we are graced with the beautiful sun again and perfect weather to enjoy the upcoming events right around us in Fairfax County!
Are you a foodie? Are you a workout warrior? Do you workout to eat (who doesn’t)? If you fall into any of those categories, make sure you do not miss The Cooking Light & Health Fit Foodie Race Weekend. Being held down the road in Fairfax, Friday, May 20th through Sunday, May 21st, you’ll have several opportunities to participate in the different scheduled events that will get your mouth watering and heart pumping. Kick off your weekend with a party Friday night with cocktails, food provided by True Food Kitchen and opportunities to win great prizes. Run or walk off the drinks and food on Saturday in a 5K, followed by cooking and fitness demonstrations. Finish off the weekend with a sweat session hosted by Equinox to get your blood flowing and ready for another week!
Another great outdoor festival close to us at Lakeside is the popular and long running Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival. This year marks the festival’s 25th anniversary and will be held on Saturday, May 21st (10am-6pm) and Sunday, May 22nd (10am-5pm). This family friendly event will once again stretch eleven blocks along Reston Town Center. You will be able to find a painting, photograph, piece of jewelry or another craft that speaks to you as you walk through the more than 200 artist booths. Besides the chance to add to your art collection, you can also gain inspiration and learn more about a certain craft through demonstrations, activities and performances.
