Did you know that Sunday, August 4th kicks off National Farmers’ Market Week? It’s the perfect excuse to check out any of the Fairfax County Farmers’ Markets—if you haven’t already been shopping at them all summer long. The Lorton, Annandale, and McLean markets will all be hosting special activities and live cooking demos that week to celebrate!
It really doesn’t matter when you make it to the markets, though. You can always count on them being fully stocked with fresh fruits and veggies from local farmers, humanely raised meats from nearby ranchers, and much more. Find your favorite and most convenient marker in Fairfax County and spend a weekend morning or a weekday evening perusing the array of fresh foods and artisan-made goods. All of the markets are producer-only, which means you will always be able to chat with the person who actually made or cultivated the product in front of you.
