The dog days of summer are here, and that means it’s time for the Arlington County Fair, which is slated to run from August 14-18 this year. Traditionally, the various competitive exhibits have been at the heart of the fair (tastiest pie, biggest cucumber, or healthiest livestock, for example), and you’ll definitely find plenty of those at this year’s fair. But you’ll also find a number of modern additions, like the brand-new robotics challenge, butterfly room, and goat yoga sessions. Kids will enjoy the midway games and carnival rides, while everyone can tap their toes to some live music while chowing down on a hot dog and some cotton candy.

Don’t want to deal with a parking hassle? Catch one of the fair’s free shuttles from the Arlington Career Center, I-66 parking garage, Pentagon City metro station, or Virginia Square metro station.
