October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to increase awareness about this disease and raise funds for research into the cause and treatment of breast cancer.
All month long, major breast cancer charities all over the country will host fundraising events and educational initiatives, as well as inform people about the importance of breast cancer screenings and self-exams. You may recognize the iconic pink ribbon that represents breast cancer awareness, but did you know that this symbol was adopted by Evelyn Lauder of Estée Lauder for the company’s Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 1993?
If you want to do your part to support Breast Cancer Awareness here at Lakeside Apartments, we’ll be accepting donations for the cause all month long.
