Now that Christmas is behind us, it is now time to start getting ready for New Year’s Eve! We are lucky at Lakeside to be so close to many different New Year’s Eve celebrations! Whether you want to keep it low key or get all glitzed and glammed for the night, our area has something for everyone of all ages.

Want to end 2016 on a healthy note? Sign up for a local race! Take part in the Ringing in Hope Walk, Run and Fun event in Ashburn.  You can participate in the 10K, 5K or the 2k fun run/walk while helping to raise money and awareness for INOVA Life with Cancer.  Another race that is happening on NYE is the Fairfax Four Miler.  Get your run on and stay afterwards for a pizza party or to check out Old Town Fairfax.

Is a dance party, champagne and a big party more your jam for NYE?  Get your sequined dress and gold tie out and choose from one of these closeby NYE parties at some of our favorite spots.  Starting at $30, purchase tickets to The Revolution Darts & Billiards NYE Party.  Your tickets will get you live entertainment, DJ, party favors, complimentary hand-passed hors d’oeuvres, and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight!  Over at Velocity 5, pay $25 for a night of live entertainment, party favors, complimentary champagne toast, plus free overnight parking.

However, if you are in need of a family-friendly NYE event, there are several options to ring in the New Year with the entire family.  Take a short drive to Vienna for First Night Vienna.  Or go over to Falls Church where the city of Falls Church will be hosting Watch Night Falls Church. NYE may be warmer this year than in past years, but going out and ice skating with the entire family is still a great way to end 2016.  You can have a great night ice skating over at the ice skating rink at Reston Town Center.  However, if you don’t want to go more than a few miles from home, take your family over to see the Christmas and holiday lights at Bull Run Festival of Lights!

No matter what you do or where you go on New Year’s Eve, we hope you have a fun and safe evening and ringing in 2017 in a joyful and happy way! Happy New Years!
